The traditional ways of meeting and greeting are fast becoming antiquated and out of date. While it is still refreshing to meet someone face to face, it is also increasingly difficult to trust anyone and take what they say at face value. One of the advantages of online dating is that the forums and member descriptions serve as an initial screener – you can get an immediate idea of the person at the other end of the keyboard or profile. Also, it is now officially expensive to be single and go on a dozen first dates, while trying to make an impression, without the benefit of any pre-screened forum – or dating in the “traditional” way. We are fast entering into a very antiseptic version of society. Our new habits already born in this 21st century, are hastening its arrival. While it is cause for a reality check, bear in mind that it is all simply part of the new wave of life, with more on the way. Stay tuned!
