Expecting Too Much?

online dating author Neal D. BogosianSome people think they are God. Do you? Should you be praised? Worshipped? Are you the Princess of the World? The Prince of the Seas? Or are you just the Princess of your own domain – and your bathroom mirror? And Prince of your own backyard – and your backyard grill . We are living in such a status-driven world culture, that far too often our expectations of others far exceed even ourselves. Sure, everyone would like to improve their lot, but don’t be so damn fickle! You’re human. You have the same functions as everyone else. You put your pants on one leg at a time. You drink fluids from a cup and then release them in a bowl. When navigating through the processes of online dating, don’t portray yourself as someone you are not. You will only be hurting yourself.

Some people, when they meet through an online forum, simply don’t connect in person. Or they fail to relate to each other….or simply are not compatible. Fine. This does not mean you are above that person. It does not mean you are better than that person, and in fact, in life, as soon as you think you are better than anyone else, you are immediately thrust beneath them; a good bit of wisdom to live by.

Also, bear this in mind as you scroll down the list of potential lovers…..if you expect too high, you just might end up with someone who requires more maintenance than all of the cars in Europe.
