About me
- Where I liveI currently live in Southsea with three mates I have known most of my life. We are a bit of a cliché "student house", and we even hire cleaners to tidy up around the place! We live on the edge of Somerstown, which is the "slums" of Portsmouth so to speak, although we've only had one break in since we've been here so that's not bad!
- Where are you originally from?My parents live in Portsmouth, about 3 miles from where I live now. The area they live in is much quieter and has less trouble. I moved out roughly eighteen months ago during my second year at uni.
- Do you want to stay there?Some time down the line I would absolutely love to move to Vienna, or have a holiday home there. I went there while I was in college and loved it.
- What is your occupation?I am currently unemployed, I graduated from uni July this year and have been having trouble finding a decent job over the summer. I believe my standards might be too high!
- What have you done so far?I've spent more or less all of my life in education so far. Since I left school I've done two years of college and three years of university. I have a good degree in Computer Engineering, and as yet have done nothing of use with it!
- What are your future plans?I am trying to break into the computer programming field, and if I have difficulty getting the sort of job I want this year then I plan to go to do a Masters next year in Computer Game Technology, because I like the idea of developing games.
- Your perfect partnerI am normally one for romance, but I've just gotten out of a long-term relationship and would love a more casual one this time round. I like a girl to be shorter than me (I'm 5'9 by the way), but apart from that looks aren't anything for me to go on. Someone I can hang out with my mates with I guess, and possibly someone slightly younger.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?I've put on quite a bit of weight recently, so I've started to take walks along the seafront or just around town to try and get back in shape. When I am at home I chat online or play around on facebook. Or, if I'm in the creative mood I might try my hand at writing short stories. I also play guitar, mainly acoustic these days but I do play electric as well.
- MusicThe sort of music I like is already on my profile! I don't often go to gigs or concerts anymore, mainly because I don't share musical taste with many of my current mates.
- Your fav tv seriesI love The IT Crowd, and I like Dilbert. All my other ones are already on my profile.
- Your fav books/authorsMy all time favourite books are the Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake. At the moment I'm collecting short story/novella collections by Stephen King. I find it easier than reading whole novellas since I have a poor attention span!
- What sort of movies do you like?I mainly enjoy comedies, Frat Pack, Adam Sandler, that sort of thing. But I also like horror stuff if it's got a decent storyline and not just a gore-fest with no substance. I'm not the kind of person who looks for "messages" in their films.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? Apart from being shorter than me (and I have a thing about red hair :P) I can find any sort of girls attractive. Body shape, hairstyles, whatever, doesn't make a difference to me.
- FoodI'm a bit of a fussy eater! There are many things I have a strong distaste for, such as mushrooms and seafood, so I steer clear of them. I like italian foods, especially pasta.
- DrinksIf we're talking non-alcoholic drinks I tend to stick to orange or blackcurrant squash, unless I feel like treating myself when I'll get coke or Dr Pepper or something. When I go "clubbing" I normally get alcopops because the beer they serve there is horribly watered-down! I don't go out that often though, less than once a week, so I'm not a big drinker.
- HolidaysHolidays with my parents have always been coach holidays to various places in Europe, so that's what I'm used to really. I've been to Italy and Austria a couple of times now. The furthest away from home I've been is Czech Republic.
- PetsI have a hamster called Boris (yes, it's female, but I named her before I realised!), but my dream pet would be a penguin. Haha!
- Fav thingMy dad's acoustic guitar.
- Fav PlaceVienna. At least, favourite of all the places I've been so far.
- What's your favourite radio station ?Not much of one for radio.
- What's your favourite tv station ?I download most of my televisial delectations.
- What's your favourite drink?Alcoholic: absinthe. Although they've stopped selling it in the supermarkets it seems. Non-alcoholic: Dr Pepper. I never tried it until I was 20, but my ex got me onto it. Turns out Alan Partridge was right, it does taste like fizzy Benylin!
- What's your favourite food?Pasta, particularly tortellini.
- What are your favourite activities?Playing guitar, relaxing listening to music, watching a film, playing computer games, etc.
My attitude
- Family lifeI would love to get married some time in the not-too-distant/not-too-near future, and I love the idea of being a father. I don't think I really need to think about that just yet though, I'm only young!
- Jobs&WorkingCurrently unemployed as I've said, but my career isn't my main priority in life.
- MoneyI'd choose friends and loved ones over money every time, but I would like to be financially comfortable.
