About me
- Where I liveI love living here in Inverness! It's got all the things you need in a city without the traffic and stress. Great places to got hiking, cycling and surfing nearby too.
- Where are you originally from?I'm originally from West Dunbartonshire (Near Glasgow) but I've lived lots of places over the years.
- Do you want to stay there?If I leave here, it will be to go much further afield; America, Australia, New Zealand it just depends what opertunities turn up over the next few years.
- What is your occupation?Currently working as a Project Engineer for a large medical device company.
- What have you done so far?I've done lots of travelling in the past, starting with 3 years in the merchant navy when I finished my apprenticeship. Still want more though..
- What are your future plans?Hmmm? Well I certainly want to go lots more places but It could get a bit lonley so I could do with a travelling companion.

- What are you interests/hobbies?Cycling, hiking, running, surfing, snow boarding, photography, motorbiking and of course travel..
- MusicLove anything from Metalica to Kylie
- Your fav tv seriesI don't usually watch TV. I do sometimes watch things that like prison break, 24 etc but I get them on DVD so I don't have to stay in.
- Your fav books/authorsThe 5 people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom. Great wee book! I also like the Dan Brown stuff and some of the sport biographies Lance Armstrong and Dean Karnazes are my favourite of those
- What sort of movies do you like?Love things like T2 and the new Batman movie but the best movie ever made is still one flew over th cukoo's nest... Pure class!
- Types of people you like?I love to be around positive thinking people wh are up for a bit of fun and adventure. I've been really luck so far, my friends are a great bunch and we've been up to all sorts of stuff.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? Outside doesn't matter to me, not one bit. Saying that, I would like to find someone who can join me when I'm out hiking or cycling etc so It would be nice if you can run for more than 10 minutes without collapsing. Personality wise, I want to be with someone fun and adventurous.
- FoodI do love my grub. Indian, mexican, thai, I'll try anthing. I'm also a pretty good cook (when I've got time).
- DrinksI love a glass of vintage red with dinner. For fun, I'll either have a glass of beer or cider but I try not to get pished anymore. It's just not worth the hangover.
- HolidaysThailand, Nepal, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Tasmania, Singapore, Toronto, China, Japan, New York, France, Spain, Chicago, Albuquerque... Where next?? Well, I am thinking about heading to NZ for a cycling holiday.
- PetsI love animals..... They taste great!
- Fav thingMy camera. I don't got too far without one.
- Fav PlaceSo far, it's Tasmania. I was helping out on a sheep farm for a few days when I visited. It was great fun. The treking there is totally amazing too.
- What's your favourite radio station ?The local station is pretty good up here. When I'm not listening to that, I've got it tuned into radio 2. I never tune into R1 anymore, I don't want to take a chance that I might soil my ears with that tit Moyles.
- What's your favourite tv station ?The AV channel. Thats the only one I need anyway.
- What's your favourite drink?Singapore sling. 1 shot of cherry brandy, 1 shot of triple sec, a shot of gin, some crushed ice and top it off with some fruit juice and lemonade.... Yum..
- What's your favourite food?Indian or Thai
- What are your favourite activities?Anything that ends in ING
My attitude
- Family lifeI've got 2 kids that I love to bits and would do anything for. My world was turned upside down a few years back when my wife walked off and took them with her (she met someone on the internet). Things are pretty good now, except for the long drive to go see them.
- Jobs&WorkingBeing a Senior Project Engineer at LifeScan has its moments. It can be full on rushing around doing dozens of things at once ro it could be boring tedious paperwork. I keep getting promoted so I must be doing something right.
- MoneyI don't need too many friends or too much money. At the end of the day, if you are a miserable old sod and you win the lottery, you'll still be a miserable old sod with a ferrari. Right now, I earn enough to go on a couple of holidays a year and to buy my kids what they want at Christmas time, what more do I need?
- PoliticsPower corrupts. I read a statistic somewhere that said something like 'of the 600 odd politicians who sit in the house of commons there are 2 murderers, 4 rapists, a dozen wife beaters, 50 tax evadors and almost every one of them have been accused of fraudulant expense claims. These are the people we look to to run our country? What can we do about it? I think its time for a big shake up!
