About me
Hi! I'm an American University student who is graduating in May (YAY!) and will be continuing my studies at the University of Ulster, Magee Campus in Derry, Northern Ireland in Peace and Conflict Studies. I'm going to be moving a long way from home, and I'm looking for men in Derry and the surrounding area for friends and maybe more.
About me. I'm a student, and that'sa major part of my life. I'm going to want someone who likes talking about political theory, and discussing deep philosophical things deep into the night. I'm going to want someone who won't mind when I'm stressing about my essays and papers, and perhaps even someone who would be willing to read them.
I'm strong willed, passionate, and quite stubborn when it's something I care about!

About me
- Where I liveI'm a native of Madison, IN, in the United States. It's a pretty little town, I guess, but there's really nothing to do here other than watch corn grow. Didn't like high school here, because people are so provincial, and can't see outside of the borders of Indiana, while I was always dreaming of bigger things...I guess Madison just doesn't have a place for dreamers.
- Where are you originally from?See above.
- Do you want to stay there?I'd love to spend the rest of my life in Northern Ireland. The two times I've been there (once for a week and once for a month) I absolutely loved it.
- What is your occupation?I'm a student, graduating with my bachelors in May. I'm going to be attending the University of Ulster in September, studying Peace and Conflict studies. I want to stay in academia, do research on conflict resolution, or maybe work for a non-profit group that tries to apply some of the theory I'm going to be learning.
- What have you done so far?Hmm...I've presented my research at a bunch of different conferences, I've had an article published in my University journal, and I won an Undergraduate Research Fellowship to study the Belfast Agreement...
- What are your future plans?Going to grad school in Derry in September, getting my PhD from somewhere...
- Your perfect partner I'm looking for a guy who's smart, sensitive, passionate, and who cares in the world around him. I'm not looking for a guy who's completely hung up on his masculinity - macho guys really turn me off. For me, one of the sexiest things in a man is when he's not afraid to be who he really is. I'm looking for honesty, in all areas. Don't lead me on and don't screw me around. I'm looking for a guy who will accept me the way I am, faults and all, and not try to change me into what he wants me to be. I like who I am, and I want someone who will like the person I am. I'm looking for a guy who still has curiosity and wonder about the world, who can see its beauty as well as its faults, and who truly wants to make it a better place. Most of all, I'm looking for a guy to be my friend and partner in life, following the path to wherever that may lead.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?Politics! I'm a political science major right now, and I find politics fascinating. I love movies, reading, surfing the net, music - I have tons of interests, just message me to learn more!
- Your fav tv seriesHeroes, Law and Order
- Your fav books/authorsI mainly read non-fiction, but I love Harry Potter and Tolkien. Also like Anne McCaffery. I study politics and the real world, so I like reading fantasy and sci fi stuff when I'm not studying. :)
- What sort of movies do you like? All movies! But to be honest, I love Disney movies and romantic comedies the best. Yes, I know, very girly.
- Types of people you like?Honest people. People who don't screw you around telling you one thing when they mean another. Genuine people.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? I like guys who are taller than me, but if he's close, that's fine. ;)
- FoodNothing as good as well-prepared Mexican food!
- DrinksI love rum and orange juice. Or pineapple juice. I'm not the kind to get drunk, but I like a drink or two with friends. :)
- HolidaysI've been to forty-one US states, Canada, and Eire and Northern Ireland. I LOVE travelling, and would basically go anywhere.
- PetsCats
- Fav PlaceBelfast!
My attitude
- Family lifeI want a marriage that is a partnership. I do want to get married, but I don't want someone who's going to expect me to stay home barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. I can't cook worth a darn, so it would be nice if he had some talent in the kitchen. ;) I'm looking for a partner in marriage, not a master.
- Jobs&WorkingHate the job I'm working right now - but I'm quitting it in four days. Woohoo!
- MoneyAs long as I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and can pay my bills, money isn't that important to me.
- PoliticsNot going to comment on Northern Irish politics (even though it's what I've been studying the last four years), but in the USA, I'm a member of the socialist party and support far left candidates. Politically, I'm very far left, so don't think that just because I'm an American I like George Bush or something. Far from it. I pretty much find everything my government has done since 9/11 (and most things it did before 9/11) absolutely despicable. That said, I still consider myself a patriot. The way I look at it, if a friend is doing drugs, and destroying themselves, a true friend doesn't just let them do it and love them anyway. A true friend, like a true patriot, is going to point out the problems - vehemently - and try to make that person the best they can possibly be. That's how I feel about my patriotism. America has the potential to be so much more than it is - and it makes me so angry that people here just sit back and support the president blindly, and tell people like me to move to Cuba where we belong. *grrrr* Sorry, bit of a rant there.
