- Where I liveI love being a Barnsley lass, everyone is so friendly here. You're never stuck for someone to talk to if you stand still for even a minute! Plus we've got some beautiful countryside on our doorstep.
- Do you want to stay there?Hmmm.... I've toyed with the idea of living elsewhere, but I love Yorkshire so much I can't imagine moving away.
- What have you done so far?For the majority of my life I've worked as a school librarian. I find the job very satisfying and quite challenging at times (mainly because of the kids!) I doubt I'd ever change career, but I am beginning to branch out into drawing pencil portraits in the hope I can make a little bit of money doing something I REALLY love.
- Your perfect partnerI'm not sure if I HAVE got a 'perfect' partner, although if Orlando Bloom came knocking at my door, he'd be swept off the doorstep quicker than a speeding bullet! I suppose I'm after someone caring with a good sense of humour, all the normal things that most girls are after, I guess.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?Drawing is my main focus in life at the minute. I always seem to be either sketching something or at least thinking about it. I find it a great way to relax and I love the challenge it presents.
- MusicI like most genres of music apart from dance. Alternative rock and indie are the styles I listen to most, but it can vary depending on my mood. I don't go to many gigs, it's one of those things I never seem to get round to doing. It's an ambition of mine, to go to one of the big summer festivals one day though.
- Your fav tv seriesI don't watch much TV, but when I do its to watch programmes like Lost, Prison Break and most of all, QI. I also love quirky comedies like The League of Gentlemen and The Mighty Boosh.
- Your fav books/authorsAs a librarian I really ought to read more! I tend to read mainly teenage fiction, because that's what I have the most (FREE) access to! My favourite author though is the much more adult based, Bill Bryson. I love his travelogues and the dry wit he uses to describe even the most mundane of places.
- What sort of movies do you like?I'll watch almost anything movie-wise, from Mary Poppins to Fight Club. It really depends on the mood I'm in or the person I'm going with. My faves are Donnie Darko, Before Sunrise, Fight Club, Lord of the Rings trilogy, When Harry Met Sally, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, Romeo and Juliet, American Beauty, Usual Suspects and far too many more to mention or even remember!
- What kind of people do you find attractive? I tend to be attracted to studenty types, esp art and music students! I guess I perceive them as being free-thinking and full of quirky ideas to intrigue me. Looks aren't everything, but there does need to be an initial attraction at first to make me want to find out more. After that, personality is most important. I like people I can joke around with and who make me feel relaxed.
- HolidaysI'm definitely more of a sight-see'er than a sunbather. I haven't been anywhere near as many places as I'd like. My heart belongs to Paris though. I've spent two holidays there, exploring the city on my own, and they were the best breaks I've ever had.
- PetsI love animals, unless they're spiders! Birds are my favourite, particularly parakeets.
