About me
Hi folks. I'm me and you're you..though to you you're me and I'm you.. I'm the kind of guy who is loving, caring, devoted and will do my best to treat someone right and make things work. Music is one of my main loves, both listening and having fun with my guitar. I can be very affectionate and intimate (There may be mental barriers at first but isn't that normal?). I do understand that sometimes people need distance, but what I don't understand is people who just plain don't like hugs and just snuggling up together in the moment. They're weird :) I don't pretend to be an adonis, or the magical man who knows exactly what to do and when but I reckon I'll do and give me a chance - I can be fairly quick thinking on my feet. So if you just want a chat to see what I'm like, say hi. About me
- Where I liveI like being near the sea and away from big polluted smelly cities. Beach, dunes, pine woods and red squirrels :)
- Do you want to stay there?I'd move if I had a good enough reason too but right now I've no reason too, plus it would take some working out and I'd have to rename my company!
- What is your occupation?I am an IT consultant. I run my own business doing anything from PC/laptop supplies to hardware/software repairs, web hosting, web design, dsl installations. If its IT, I'll handle it :)
- What have you done so far?Most of my jobs have been IT related. I worked Customer Support at an ISP whilst at uni, then spent a year in Manchester computing as part of my degree. Since then I've been employed as an IT consultant before realising I could do far more and far better starting on my own. The only none IT job I had was a few weeks long hours working in a fireworks shop around bonfire night during my last year at uni as I needed the money!
- What are your future plans?The main things I want out of life are to improve my guitar skills and get into playing with other musicians. Eventually I hope to be good enough to perform live as music is one of the few things that really moves me. Personally though, the only other thing I really want is someone to share the ride with.
- Your perfect partnerJust a decent person. We all make mistakes and find some things difficult but if she's willing to try and be understanding then so am I!
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?Music mostly. I like some much music and live gigs are the best. I currently have a Takamine TAN10C acoustic that is my main guitar but I also have a Gibson SG Special. I've got a nice 12 string G series Takamine in my sights for my next purchase though! I've also been doing archery for a while and getting better at it. Got a lot of my own equipment now - just as the good weather ended..typical!
- MusicI like a wide variety of music. Many of the people I listen to don't have a category or then they go and change completely like Bruce Springsteen going from rock with the E St Band to glorified barn dance with the Seeger Sessions Band. Good fun though. Live gigs are the best though, big or small as long.
- Your fav tv seriesBabylon 5 has always been a favorite. Yes its scifi but its a great story that was all planned out from day one (until the broadcasters messed around with series and they had to come up with an extra one). Spaced is a fantastic comedy, as is Red Dwarf and Scrubs. To be honest I'll watch quite a lot.
- Your fav books/authorsI used to read books as a kid. Read loads of the Hardy Boys books but lately can't concentrate properly on them. I'd rather chill to some music than read a book I'm afraid.
- What sort of movies do you like?Again a wide variety. I don't mind sop, but its got to be a decent film. Epics, fantasy, scifi, thrillers. Even the terrible films can be funny sometimes :)
- Types of people you like?I tend to get on with people who have some common sense in their heads. It doesn't have to be traditional common sense but as long as there's some clue there ;)
- What kind of people do you find attractive? I don't have any specifics really. I guess looking at patterns from who I have been attracted to I tend to like smaller girls though that's not always the case. Makeup is also an odd one. I prefer people looking as the naturally are. If a bit of makeup makes you feel more comfortable then okay but remember - trowels are for gardening!
- FoodOoh food. Now there's plenty of nice food, alas there's plenty of foods that cause me pain if I eat them. I'll try most things within reason though.
- DrinksI tend to drink water most of the time. Alcohol sends me to sleep and my taste buds react badly to even the smallest amount of it. Water is highly under-rated
- HolidaysAnything without nasty burning sun. I can handle hot places if there's shade :) I'd like to visit some of the less well known places. Iceland, Norbay and more remote Europe but not on my own.
- PetsWe've pretty much always had pets. I like cats though because they can be nice and friendly and all that but they can also keep themselves happy if you're not feeling like attention.
- Fav thingEither my acoustic guitar or my mini.
My attitude
- Family lifeNot completely traditional but I only really want one person. Sharing isn't for me, neither is singeldom. I don't particularly want kids as its difficult enough to balance two lives (one's a challenge by itself!). Marriage, well it'd be nice to be confident enough to say yes but I can only vouch for myself. If the possibility came about though, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
- Jobs&WorkingWorking for yourself is good. Flexibility and noone except the goverment taking a cut. It is far from the most important thing in my life but something that you have to do to have a decent life in our kind of society.
- MoneyMoney is only a means to an ends. I don't need lots of money or friends. Just enough money to do what I want and some good friends to pass the time with.
- PoliticsEvery bugger has an opinion. On the Internet, everyone wants to spout their opinion and expects everyone else to agree with them even if what they have said is a million miles from what they meant to say. I'm not massively political though but I'm open to conversations on whatever people want to talk about.
