| This may sound a sob story, but please hear a Kylie defender out. Minogue should never have had a flop with her 1998 self-titled LP, which should have been released the year before. The first single ("Some Kind of Bliss") was released the same week as Elton John's Diana tribute--Kylie didn't have a hope in hell. Worse then happened--the album, ready for release, was held so the label could change the unfortunate name (Impossible Princess). This remix album takes away some of that records pretensions (yes, it was a touch flawed), and puts our favourite Australian back on the party floor, where she belongs. Brothers In Rhythm work their slinky magic on "Too Far", Sash! Takes the album down a Euro-trance path, then the good old Trouser Enthusiasts turn "Did It Again" even more saucy. Yes sir, that girl can boogie--please don't try and turn into an indie queen again. --Charlie Porter |
