About me
- Where I live...in a flat near a fair bit of traffic! I look forward to being somewhere a little quieter but I'm not rushing to move. I pass over the Thames on foot (via a bridge - I don't have any Deity-tendencies!) every day and it's a beautiful stretch thanks to the Environment Agency so, whilst it may be a bit noisy it's actually a nice little spot.
- Where are you originally from?Hmmm...born in Kent but spent my growing-up years in Somerset hence, I imagine, my love of the country and a little peace and quiet (but not necessarily solitude!).
- Do you want to stay there? Here?? In Berkshire?? Well home is where the heart is and, at the mo, only my job is here.
- What is your occupation?Accounts and computers. Bit of a geek but not enough so that I can't hold a decent conversation or so that I can't talk of anything but work. I work mostly because it passes the time but I have to admit that I enjoy what I do. I've been spending a lot of time building a program for a guy who runs a paper-shop and is part of our local community. It's unpaid work but I think that there's little enough community spirit around nowadays.
- What have you done so far?Accounts, computers, consulting on software...you probably get the idea...I suspect that this is one of the boxes that I ought to leave short!
- What are your future plans? To see my son graduate. Hopes are different and multitudinous but that's about the only plan that I have.
- Your perfect partnerSomeone who listens but also hears. Someone who knows what they want but can compromise and also expect compromise. Relationships are a two-way thing. Age and body-shape isn't important. A sharing and honest person.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?Music (I play the guitar and keyboards). Figuring out new software on the computer. Killing (or getting killed by)my son (but only via computer software)! As he's doing a games-design degree then it keeps us in touch and also on a similar wavelength.
- MusicThe stuff that I like is just so varied; I'm listening to Bon Jovi's latest at the moment but, depending on mood, will go drom Alice Cooper to Joan Armatrading. Darren Hayes and Savage Garden are favourites but I missed a live concert recently as I was stuck in traffic on the M25. Grrrr!!
- Your fav tv seriesNCIS. Cool but funny. Call me McGee. I do have a bad habit of drooling over Pauley Perette though!
- Your fav books/authorsCrichton. Awesome. Stephen King...most times but not always. Jeffrey Archer. The Honourable J K Rowling. I've read all the Harry Potter books time and time again and still will. It's all to do with escapism...or maybe just being a Big Kid!
- What sort of movies do you like?Escapism again...I have loads of videos and dvds. favourites are Armageddon (Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton and Michael Clarke Duncan - unsung but brilliant). Anything with Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis. Hugh Grant. If it's outer space it's definitely worth a look.
- Types of people you like?Quiet, empathic, honest.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? Honestly...It's really not down to shape or age...it's down to being able to connect. It's a weird thing as yo can find two people with similar personalities but you won't feel attracted to them both. Sorry...best way I can explain it!
- FoodStir fry, casseroles, fish, fish and fish!
- DrinksWine. Notmally white, often red, never to the point of personality extinction.
- HolidaysWhat's a holiday? Answers on a postcard please :-)
- PetsNo pets but I'm ok with most small furry animals. As my Grandad had a farm I'm also cool with cows, horses, sheep and chickens (but not ona social level!).
- Fav thingWestfield, 6 string cutaway shallow roundback guitar.
- Fav PlaceBy the sea.
- What's your favourite tv station ?Channel Five...drama and documentary and news...but especially as it has NCIS.
- What's your favourite drink?Coffee.
- What's your favourite food?Smoked mackerel. Great with salads. Even better the mackerel is fresh from the sea.
My attitude
- Family lifeFamily's important. No matter what, the kids are always a number one priority. Their whole life depends on their parents and it's not their fault they managed to haul themselves into the world. One-night stands are a nonsense. Friendship and trust is very much a first step and everything leads from there.
